The Low Electro Magnetic Field (Low EMF) Wunpeece Duct Spacer were initially designed for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) for the Scattergood-Olympic 230kv Transmission Line Project. The reduction of the electromagnetic field is accomplished by arranging the cables in the circuits into a triangular configuration. By configuring the duct bank in this fashion, the conduits would also be one inch closer than if the duct bank was in a horizontal configuration, The result is approximately a 57 percent reduction in the electromagnetic field at the location of the highest magnetic field in the duct bank.
